25 Small Still Life Paintings, No 15

It's quite a balance to keep the painting fresh, to not overwork it, but also to include enough visual information to make it believable. I think I got it right with the cloth here, but perhaps not the apple.

  2. Kerry, I think the cloth is fantastic - really good. I love the swirls moving into the apple and yet in places almost holding it at bay - a kind of paradoxical relatedness to the apple.The light in the apple is not as sharp as in the others. I miss that, but that's just me. I just thoroughly enjoy the images. Thank you.

  4. I like it. I think the "apple" provides a nice resting place for the eye...from all the movement in the cloth.
